Cookie policy

In short

This policy explains which cookies and other records the website living-score.com (the "site") keeps in your browser. The site is run by the administration of the Living Score service (living-score.com). Send questions about cookies to info@living-score.com.

The site keeps only what it needs to work or what you chose yourself: a session cookie after you sign in, a cookie with your choice in the notice, the language and theme you pick, and "my places" if you add them to a report. No advertising cookies are set, and we build no visitor profiles. Yandex Metrica analytics cookies appear only after you accept the analytics category.

Cookies and records the site uses

The table at the end of this page is generated from the site's own code, so it lists exactly what is stored. The same is described below in words.

Session cookie (as_session; on the site served over https, __Host-as_session). Our own (first-party) cookie. Set only when you sign in with the code from the e-mail, it keeps you signed in for 30 days or until you sign out. Page scripts cannot read it (HttpOnly), and it is sent only to this site and only over a secure connection.

Choice cookie (consent). First-party. Remembers what you chose in the cookie notice, a refusal included, and the version of the notice. Kept for up to 24 months (up to 12 months for visitors from Russia), after which the notice asks again.

Language (cookie as_lang) and theme (local storage, key as_theme). Written only when you pick a language or a theme yourself. The language is kept for a year, the theme until you choose "auto" or clear your browser data.

"My places" (local storage, key as_places): the name and coordinates of places you added to a report. They stay in your browser and reach our server only while a route to them is worked out; the server passes their points to the map-data service, as it does the report address, and keeps none of them.

Blog card (session storage, key as_callout): remembers that you closed the "score your address" card while the tab is open.

Only after you accept analytics: a random browser number as_visitor (local storage, first-party; kept until you withdraw consent) and the Yandex Metrica cookies on our domain — _ym_uid and _ym_d (1 year), _ym_isad (20 hours), _ym_metrika_enabled (60 minutes) and a few short technical ones. They are third-party by purpose: the Yandex LLC script sets and reads them. Yandex may also set yandexuid, i and ymex on its own domain (up to a year); Yandex controls those.

Every record listed here is set by the site itself (first-party). The exception is the Yandex Metrica cookies described above.

Your choice and how to change it

The necessary records — the session, your choice and the settings you saved — need no consent: without them the site cannot do what you ask of it. Everything else is set only with your consent.

The notice in the corner of the page tells you about cookies and, where the law of your country requires it, asks for your choice. You can reopen it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page and change or withdraw your choice as easily as you gave it; a refusal is remembered as long as an acceptance. The site works in full after a refusal.

If the notice has no "Analytics" category, the site has no analytics tool.

The analytics tool is Yandex Metrica (Yandex LLC, Russia), counter 113404515. The counter only counts page views: session recording (Webvisor) and click maps are switched off. When you withdraw consent with "Cookie settings", the counter is no longer loaded, the page reloads, and the counter's cookies on this site are deleted together with the as_visitor number; the cookies on Yandex's domain can be deleted only in your browser settings.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you cannot sign in; the rest of the site keeps working.

Visitors from the European Union and Spain

For visitors from the EU, storing data in the browser and reading it are governed by Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive), and in Spain by Article 22.2 of Law 34/2002 on information society services and e-commerce (LSSI-CE). Personal data obtained through cookies are processed under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

For visitors from the EU, optional records are therefore off by default and appear only after explicit consent. The "Accept" and "Reject" buttons in the notice are equally prominent, single categories can be chosen in "Settings", and the choice is kept for no more than 24 months.

If you are in the EU and accept analytics, the data about your visit are received by Yandex LLC and processed in Russia, which the European Commission has not recognised as offering an adequate level of data protection. The transfer rests on your explicit consent (Article 49(1)(a) GDPR); without it the counter is not loaded and nothing is sent to Russia. The privacy policy gives the details.

Visitors from Russia

Data kept in cookies and recorded during a visit may be personal data under Federal Law No. 152-FZ of 27 July 2006 "On Personal Data". A visitor from Russia sees the cookie notice on the first visit. Analytics is switched on only if they accept it; Yandex Metrica data are processed in Russia.

What is kept outside your browser

Every time you open a page, our server records a line of visit statistics with your IP address and the country, region and city it points to (IP Geolocation by DB-IP, a database kept on our own server). The line is kept for 90 days; the privacy policy describes it in full.

The map is drawn from OpenFreeMap tiles, which your browser requests directly. That service sets no cookies on this site but sees your IP address.

Changes and contact

When the site starts keeping something new, this policy and the table below change, and the cookie notice asks again. The date at the top shows the current version. Questions: info@living-score.com.
